Exercise Library Part 1 - Building AMY

Primary skills showcased: Project Management, Film Editing, Equipment Sourcing, Relational Database Architecture, User Research, Modelling

Through extensive user research, I identified a critical need for an exercise library in our platform. I passionately advocated for its inclusion, emphasising its importance.

After gaining approval, I was given the green light to execute the project without any constraints. This enabled me to exercise full control over the initiative, overseeing it from its inception.

Building AMY - AI, anatomy stress diagram

While exploring what others were doing in the fitness tech space, I couldn't help but notice that exercises often had heat maps showing which areas they work. It sparked an idea – what if we could take this concept to the next level? My vision was to create an overall stress diagram that goes beyond the basics, considering factors like weight distribution, muscle stress, target muscles, and more. So, I rolled up my sleeves and dived into designing this stress diagram from scratch.

To kick things off, I geeked out by building a super-detailed anatomy dataset, diving into the nitty-gritty of the human body, all the way down to the molecular level. This data became the backbone of a carefully crafted relational database.

Next up, I gathered exercise data, pulling together comprehensive information on various workouts.

The most exciting part of the process was bringing it all together. I cracked the code, and what made it even cooler was that, as a team, we managed to create an AI heat map. This algorithmically calculates stress, considering weight distribution, muscles, and additional anatomy. It's not just a visually appealing feature; it's a future-proof innovation, and I'm eagerly anticipating its continued development.

Database Architecture Snippet

I transformed this spreadsheet into a relational database, laying the groundwork for a potential transition to a SQL database. I personally devised the architecture for this transformation.
